What we store, and why

What you give us. When you run an audit: the LinkedIn URL or profile text you paste, and the result we produce from it. If you create an account: your email address and a salted, hashed password (we never see or store your password in plain text). If you buy something: your PayFast payment reference — PayFast handles all card details; none ever reach us.

Why we store it. To generate your report, let you return to it, and — if you asked us to — deliver it by email. Anonymous audits are stored against a one-way hashed browser/IP identifier so you can rate-limit fairly; they carry no name or email.

What we never do. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't scrape or store your LinkedIn credentials — we never see them. Profile text is processed by our AI engine (Anthropic) to produce your report and is not used to train anything.

Deleting your data. Email verify@profileaudit.co.za from the address on your account and ask for deletion or anonymisation. We action it within 7 days: your audits, applications and account record are removed or stripped of identifiers.

Cookies. Two functional cookies only: a session cookie (keeps you logged in) and an anonymous-audit cookie (binds your free audits so they transfer if you later sign up). No third-party tracking cookies. Anonymous, aggregate usage counts (total audits run) are kept without any personal identifiers.

POPIA. We process personal information under the lawful basis of your explicit request (running an audit) or a contract with you (a purchase). You may request what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, per the Protection of Personal Information Act.
